The Rise of Stair Runners
Stair Runners have been dominating our customer base as we've entered 2025 - and we can see why!
With our bespoke Stair Runner service, you can design your staircase to your own personal specs - And with our free Shop at Home service across Kent, you can do all of this (+Measure) from the comfort of your home.
But where do you start?
We can turn any carpet, with your measurements, into a stair runner; so the first point of call is choosing your carpet!
Whilst any quality is possible, we often recommend short, tight pile carpet to best handle footfall.
Any design is workable; we personally love a stripe or herringbone pattern for those sleek leading lines.
From Carpet to Runner
Once you've chosen your carpet, your runner can be finished off with either whipped or tape bound edges.
Whilst whipped edges can be the more cost effective choice, Tape bound or whipped edges make no difference on the effectiveness of your runner. Some may choose tape binding for their intricate designs, whilst others may choose whipping for a more minimalist look.
Bringing it all together
An optional addition - Stair Rods. Dating back to the 18th century, stair rods were used to hold down stair runners in Victorian homes. Whilst they're no longer necessary to hold down runners, as fitters will secure them with gripper rods, stair rods can be a classic addition to bring your stair runner design together.
